It takes a village, but a few key players make a difference.

Attending the Workshop

The ideal workshop participant is ready and willing to champion an inclusive project for their community! This experience is designed to most benefit the following individuals: community advocates, municipal employees and designers / builders.

To maximize the impact of this workshop, create a team composed of one person from each area of specialty—who represent the same community—and register as a full team:

1 community advocate

Someone extra passionate to see one of these projects to reality.

1 municipal employee

Ideally, a member of the Parks & Recreation team.

1 designer / builder

Landscape architects and project managers.

I got to be part of an awesome workshop where they taught us how to build inclusive playgrounds for people of all abilities. We touched on fundraising, project management, inclusive design & more. Harper’s Playground has inspired people around the globe with their innovative thinking.

Leading the workshop

G Cody QJ Goldberg

Father of two, Cody proudly serves as the Chief Play Officer of Harper’s Playground. A graduate of New York University with a BFA in film and television studies, he co-founded the organization in 2010 along with his wife, April. Together they spearheaded the design, funding, and construction of the first Harper’s Playground in Portland, Oregon, at Arbor Lodge Park—which has inspired communities around the globe to build radically inclusive playgrounds!

A big fan of inclusion of all kinds, Cody is committed to creating opportunities for both of his daughters to build friendships and community for themselves. He believes that the power of a well designed and realized inclusive play space can truly transform a community for the better.
